The Rapid Mortgage Calculator is a simple but powerful tool to calculate mortgage payments and helps you see the effect that an extra monthly, yearly or one-time payment can have on saving you thousands in interest and saves you months off mortgage payments.
This tool can be used for other loan types as well such as automobile, personal, etc. Use it as per your liking.
Listed below are a series of instruction to help you get started with Rapid Mortgage Calculator. We would love to hear from you with your comments and suggestions. Your input greatly influences future versions of this and other products we are working on.
Run the application by double clicking on the icon/shortcut created on your desktop. You will see the main window of the application open with one frame for Mortgage Setup and the other for Extra Payments.

Mortgage Setup
1) Amount you plan to Mortgage :
Enter the amount that you wish to mortgage (This does not include any down payments that you will make)
2) Mortgage Term :
Select from the list the mortgage term. This value will be in years. Typical mortgage terms are 10,15,20 years and so on...
3) Interest Rate (APR) :
Enter the Interest Rate that the lender will charge you. If you are not sure about this number please talk to the lender. Typical values are between 6% and 15%.
4) Start Payoff On:
Enter or Select the date from which you plan to start the mortgage payments. This will be required to create the amortization (payoff) table.

Extra Payments
The Extra Payments options allow you to make additional payments (on top of the monthly payment) to allow for quick mortgage payoff. You have three options here i) Make an additional payment each month, ii) Make an additional payment each year and iii) Make a one time payment. You can use any one or a combination of the three options. Play around with these options to see which option(s) will be most beneficial for you.

After you have entered the above information, the next step is to view or print the Amortization Table (Schedule). 
Click the View Amortization Table... button on the lower left of the screen. This will open a new window with the amortization schedule in printable format. The report is split by pages; use the navigation options on the toolbar to goto a specific page number. You can print the report by clicking the Print button. The report gives you a monthly payment and balance details along with summary information on each page.
